Significant and bespoke features were expertly crafted to ensure accessibility for all, including a custom made ‘pod’ designed to provide a cocoon in the garden for year round use in all weathers. The garden incorporates materials and influences from the Sheffield region to reflect its final destination at The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre.
It was a great honour to be asked to build this garden and work with the inspirational design team Harris Bugg Studio for Horatio’s Garden Charity and be part of creating something that could be truly life changing.
This garden is not only a Chelsea Gold award winner, but also won the coveted Best in Show for its year - the first adaptive garden on Main Avenue which was both patient friendly and environmentally friendly.
“It is flawless.”

“to have a garden here that would be suitable for anybody who’s in a wheelchair would be absolutely marvellous…. Something like that would change your emotions and how you feel about things completely”
